Best Lightweight Single Stroller
Travel strollers don't get much smaller or lighter than this one. Its sleek design makes it easy to fold into a neat rectangular shape and the wheels spin more easily than some other styles.
The stroller also has an ample storage space under the seat, as well as a shoulder strap to make it easier to carry around when you're not pushing it. The canopy adjustment can be noisy and could wake a toddler who is sleeping.
1. Contours Itsy
The Contours Itsy is a compact stroller with a lot of features for its size. The basket in the back of the seat has a spring loaded mechanism, which means you can push the basket down to place the backpack or diaper bag and then it will pop up to secure the contents. It also has a tray for accessories for children as well as an adjustable back pad that reclines, which are more options than you normally get on a stroller that is light.
In addition, it has a great canopy that can be opened and close to give you the sun-protection you require, and the handlebar can be adjusted in height in four positions to ensure a good fit. We weren't too impressed with the quality of its ride on rough surfaces. We found that the suspension and wheels didn't do a very good job of absorbing shocks and bumps.
The stroller is ideal for traveling because it comes assembled in the box. It takes only just a few steps to get it ready for use. The seat can be moved forward and backwards to adjust the recline which is essentially flat. It's easy to fold and unfold due to two buttons on the frame. It also fits into the perfect carrying bag when it's not in use. It's actually one of the smallest strollers we test, and it can meet the requirements of many airlines for gate-checking or cabin storage on planes. 2. Kolcraft Cloud Plus
This stroller is a great option for those looking for a lightweight travel stroller. It comes with all the features that parents want in a stroller. It comes with all-terrain tires and front suspension for smooth riding. It's also extremely light at less than 12 pounds. It folds in one hand and stand up on its own. It also comes with an adult tray and a child tray, each with two cup holders.
Its quality is not very high, and it did not perform well in our test of maneuverability. It also has a swivel frame that makes pushing it over rough surfaces feel like lifting a heavy weight. It is possible that you use the stroller only on paved sidewalks. But for most people, it's not a good choice.
Cloud Plus Cloud Plus has a three-tier extended canopy as well as a peek-a-boo window for additional sun protection. The seat is multi-position and can accommodate children up to 50 pound and uses a 5-point safety restraint system. This is a great choice for older toddlers who have outgrown their car seats for infants.
It's compact and folds up in a single step. It is able to be collapsed by pressing an appropriate button. It also has a convenient foot-activated break that is easy to install and release.
However the handle is a bit lower than other strollers we tested and some parents may be uncomfortable for long periods of time. It does come with the ability to lock the handle to keep it in place when opened, though. This is a good feature to have in case you are going to be using the stroller over uneven or muddy terrain.
3. Munchkin Sparrow
The Munchkin Sparrow stroller is the ideal travel stroller for parents who are constantly moving. This ultra-compact stroller folds up and down easily and fits into the overhead compartments of planes, or trunks at amusement parks (no need to fret about parking fees). It is also equipped with a simple-zip carrying bag that can be easily stored. It is able to be used from birth using the infant car seat adapter, and provides plenty of coverage in the sun thanks to its canopy (though not as much as the Nuna TRVL or Uppababy Minu V2). The only drawback for certain parents is that they find the look cheap and utilitarian.
The BabyZen Yoyo+ is a little more expensive than other single strollers that are lightweight however it was made specifically for luxurious urban living and travel. It's one of the smallest strollers to fold (and includes a convenient carry case), and it comes with plenty of storage, including a cup holder. The seat reclines almost flat for both child and adult. This is the only stroller on our list that comes with an adapter for car seats to allow it to be used with babies. Some parents with short legs may not like the handlebar, as it doesn't adjust.
The UPPAbaby Minu V2 may not be the most lightweight stroller, but it is packed with great features to help children travel more easily. The spacious seat reclines into a flat position, and it comes with extra padding to make those plane napping sessions more comfortable. The extendable canopy offers good sun protection, and the parent tray is spacious with plenty of storage. It also features an adjustable footrest that can double as a handle when it's folded. This footrest, however, seems vulnerable to damage from baggage handlers.
4. Uppababy Minu V2
The Uppababy Minu V2 is a high-end stroller that isn't compromising on design or quality. Its compact design makes it easy to navigate through narrow streets and tight spaces and its robust structure allows it to withstand rough terrain without compromising comfort of your child. Front and rear spring-action suspensions provide a noticeably more comfortable ride for both of you, and its durable materials mean that it can stand up to everyday wear and tear without losing its shape. It can also be enlarged to accommodate other accessories, such as an infant car seat.
In our testing during our testing, the Minu was easy to maneuver and fold even with a child in the hand. Its squat almost square fold which folds in thirds, is one of the most straightforward in our tests and allows it to easily be tucked away in overhead compartments of planes and public transport. It also has an automated brake with a color coded single-action that's simple to use.
The seat features a multi-position recline and one-handed adjustable leg rest, so it's easy to find the perfect position for your child. The UPF 50+ hood went down quite a ways and was perfect for shielding Cora's eyes from the sun (though not quite as low as other strollers). There is also a medium-sized mesh peek-aboo window that closes magnetically and sticks to the canopy instead of using noisy Velcro.
At less than 15 pounds at just under 15 pounds, the Minu is easy to carry thanks to its built-in carry handle and a shoulder strap. It can also be put in the trunk of your vehicle, and it comes with a storage bag as well as access to the Uppababy TravelSafe program that gives two years to the manufacturer's warranty. It also covers repairs for any items damaged during travel.
5. Joovy Aire
Joovy, the well-known brand of strollers offers several models. This lightweight stroller is an excellent choice for parents who are looking for a sturdy stroller that can take their children. It is easy to maneuver, has plenty of storage, and isn't difficult to fold. This model isn't suited for those who want an additional stroller or car seat compatible model. It does not accept infant car seats. Your babies must be able to sit up on their backs before they can use it.
This stroller has some solid features and an impressive price tag. It scored higher in our maneuverability test than other models with similar specifications. It's an excellent choice for smooth surfaces. It comes with a large parent tray, a canopy and plenty of storage. The front wheel suspension is stiff and the handlebar is a bit smaller than normal, however it offers an enjoyable ride for adults.
If you have twins or two children of different ages, you could consider a stroller that is side-by-side is the best option to move them around. Our favorite is the Joovy Twin Groove. It has a lot of features and a small footprint which means it can be placed into places where other side-byside strollers won't.
It has a large canopy that has a peek-aboo view and plenty of storage. It's heavier than some other side-by-sides however it has a decent weight capacity and can be used by children up to 50 lbs. It is possible to add a bassinet on the front of the stroller for newborns.
The Caboose RS Sit and Stand Stroller is an extravagant version of the stroller. It comes with the same great features as this model and comes with a bassinet to allow you to bring your baby home from the hospital with fashion.
